SA STATE CLASSIC (PB DAY) – SA Athletic Stadium

An opportunity for all U6-17 athletes to compete at SA Athletic Stadium. This event provides athletes with an opportunity to compete in 5 events (2 track/3 field or vice versa) and try to achieve their best performance. Events are staggered throughout the day. It can be a long day for the younger athletes, with large groups and long waiting periods. There is no necessity to stay all day, just try a few favourite events.

  • All Athletes must be registered with HDLAC and in full uniform to compete.
  • All Athletes must nominate and pay the event registration fees to SALAA prior to the nomination closure date.
  • Parents of athletes are expected to assist on the day and will be placed on the roster and notified of their time allocation and duties.

MULTI EVENT CHAMPIONSHIP- SA Athletics Stadium

Date: Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st January 2018

The McDonald’s Multi Event Championship is a championship event where athletes compete in five set events over the day. Athletes accrue points based on their performances in the individual events, with medals presented to the three highest point scorers in each age group.
Entry is open to athletes in the Under 9 to Under 17 age groups who are registered with SA Little Athletics before 30th November 2017.
Athletes in the Under 9 to Under 13 age groups must achieve a qualifying standard in at least 3 of the 5 events to be conducted for their age group to be eligible for the State Multi Event Championships.

Note this event has automatic qualifying for the U15 athletes coming 1st or 2nd for the SA State Team

HEALTH PARTNERS STATE RELAY DAY – SA Athletic Stadium

Date: Sunday 11th February 2018

An exciting team event for either track or field teams for U9-17 athletes. The HDLAC coaching team will select teams early in the season from interested athletes. Athletes selected will be expected to attend training sessions prior to this event.
This is an all day commitment – event times may be altered without prior notice so our full team should arrive early to avoid disappointing other team members.

Event Specific Rules
* Athletes who have qualified for the State Individual Championships in three or more events are ineligible to enter the State Challenge.
* Athletes cannot enter an event in the State Challenge that they have qualified for in the State Individual Championships, regardless of whether they nominate for that event in the State Individual Championships.

STATE INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS  – SA Athletic Stadium

The ‘be active’ State Individual Championships is the pinnacle event for many athletes. Athletes strive throughout the season to qualify to compete at these championships. All individual events are held for each age group, with the top three achievers awarded medals.

Eligibility:

Each athlete may enter 5 events and must equal or better the qualifying standard twice to be eligible.
To be eligible to compete in the Individual Championships, athletes must:‑
1 Be registered with the association Registrar for the first time on or before the 30th November 2017
2 Meet qualifying standards on at least 2 occasions within the qualification period.
3 Must participate in a minimum number of events during the Qualification Period. (a) 30 events for Under 9 to
Under 13
(b) 20 events for Under 14 to Under 17

An individual discipline may only be counted as one event at a competition (eg competing in the 100m twice still only counts
as one event).
At most 7 events may be counted towards an athlete’s qualification total within a week

There are no qualifying standards for the U16 and U17 age groups.
Athletes must have a valid recorded performance in each event they wish to enter.
Athletes in these age groups must still meet the attendance requirements to be eligible for the State Individual Championships

Athletes must register and nominate for this event. Registration forms must be provided to the HDLAC Registra prior to cut off.
