Adelaide Brighton Cement State PD Classic #1

– SA Athletic Stadium

Date: Sunday 26th September 2018
Registration Fees: $11.00 per athlete

An opportunity for all U6-17 athletes to compete at SA Athletic Stadium. This event provides athletes with an opportunity to compete in 5 events (2 track/3 field or vice versa) and try to achieve their best performance. Events are staggered throughout the day. It can be a long day for the younger athletes, with large groups and long waiting periods. There is no necessity to stay all day, just try a few favourite events.

  • Note: There are no qualification standards or eligibility requirements to compete in this competition, any registered Tiny Tot to Under 17 can participate!
  • All Athletes must be registered with Western Athletics Club and in full uniform to compete.
  • All Athletes must nominate and pay the event registration fees to SALAA prior to the nomination closure date.
  • Parents of athletes are expected to assist on the day and will be placed on the roster and notified of their time allocation and duties.

EFM STATE RELAY DAY – SA Athletic Stadium

Date: Sunday 2nd December 2018

An exciting team event for either track or field teams for U9-17 athletes. The Western Athletics Club coaching team will select teams early in the season from interested athletes. Athletes selected will be expected to attend training sessions prior to this event.
This is an all day commitment – event times may be altered without prior notice so our full team should arrive early to avoid disappointing other team members.

  • All Athletes must be registered and in full uniform to compete.
  • Parents of athletes are expected to assist on the day and will be placed on the roster and notified of their time allocation and duties.

TOYOTA STATE MULTI EVENT CHAMPIONSHIP

– SA Athletics Stadium

Date: Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th February 2019
Registration Fee $22 per athlete

The Multi Event Championship is a championship event where athletes compete in five set events over the day. Athletes accrue points based on their performances in the individual events, with medals presented to the three highest point scorers in each age group.
Entry is open to athletes in the Under 9 to Under 17 age groups who are registered with SA Little Athletics.
Athletes in the Under 9 to Under 13 age groups must achieve a qualifying standard in at least 3 of the 5 events to be conducted for their age group to be eligible for the State Multi Event Championships.

Note this event has automatic qualifying for the U15 athletes coming 1st or 2nd for the SA State Team

State PB Classic #2

– SA Athletic Stadium

Note: There are no qualification standards or eligibility requirements to compete in this competition, any registered Tiny Tot to Under 17 can participate!

Age Groups: TT-U17.
Entry Fee: $11.00 per athlete.

The State PB Classic #2 is open to all registered athletes in the Tiny Tots to Under 17 age groups, with Tiny Tots – U8’s on Saturday morning and U9’s and above on all day Sunday.This competition is all about “Personal Bests” (PB). It provides athletes with the opportunity to be introduced and understand the processes of a formal competition. All age groups, except Tiny Tots, can select up to 5 events to be involved in, with the primary purpose of the event for athletes to strive towards their own personal achievement.

This is another great opportunity for any athlete to come out to the stadium and experience the state’s premier athletics facility! It is also the perfect opportunity for athletes to attain any final qualifiers required to qualify for the State Challenge and/or State Individual Championships.

NOTE: There are no qualification standards or eligibility requirements to compete in this competition, meaning any registered Tiny Tot to Under 17’s can participate!

State Challenge

Sunday 17th March 2019

Entries Open: 9:00AM Wednesday 30th January 2019.
Entries Close: 5:00PM Wednesday 27th February 2019.
Age Groups: U8-U13.
Entry Fee: $11.00 per event for the first 3 events, then $5.00 for an additional fourth or  fifth event. Capped at $38.00.

The State Challenge (SC) is for registered athletes in the Under 8 to Under 13 age groups.The SC is a competition for athletes who did not quite qualify for the State Individual Championships, but have bettered or equalled the SC qualifying standard(s) for the nominated athletic event(s) on at least one occasion within the specified qualification period.

This event is an exciting opportunity for athletes to compete at SA’s premier athletics facility and finish off the season with some personal bests (PBs) in what is one of the most “feel good” events on the Little Athletics SA calendar. This season has also seen the introduction of the Under 8’s to the State Challenge. This provides a great opportunity to those athletes to become familiar with how a Championship style-competition runs, whilst also competing in a friendly environment.

Most individual events are held for each age group, with the top three placed athletes awarded medals. Finals will not be conducted for this event; medals will be based on heat times. Field events will be best of three attempts (no final 8).

NOTE: Registered athletes in the Under 14 to Under 17 age groups attain straight qualification for the State Individual Championship; providing eligibility requirements are met. Therefore, athletes in these age groups are unable to compete at the State Challenge.

– An athlete must have participated in 20 events at their centre competition by Sunday 24th February 2019.

State Individual Championships

Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th March 2019

Age Groups: U9-U17 and Rec Aths U18’s.
Entry Fee: $11.00 per event for the first 3 events, then $5.00 for an additional fourth or  fifth event. Capped at $38.00.

The State Individual Championships (SIC) is for registered athletes in the Under 9 to Under 17 age groups. This season will also include a Rec Aths U18’s category for those athletes affected by the Age Group change.The SIC’s is the pinnacle event for many athletes in the Little Athletics season. The SIC’s is a great opportunity for athletes to showcase their athletic ability whilst competing against the best athletes from around the state! All standard individual events are held for each age group, with the top three placed athletes awarded medals.

This competition is also where the Under 13 State Team selections are made for the 2019 Australian Little Athletics Championships (ALAC). To see if you are eligible for selection CLICK HERE. PLEASE NOTE: Receiving a medal or coming first in an event does not guarantee selection for the State Team.

To qualify, athletes in the Under 9 to Under 13 age groups must have bettered or equalled the SIC’s qualifying standard(s) for the nominated athletic event(s) on at least two occasions. Athletes in the Under 14 to Rec Aths U18’s age group must only record a valid performance in the nominated event(s). This must occur within the specified qualification period for all age groups.
